The National Television Awards (NTA) are Britains popular vote awards. There are many other awards given out by public vote in the UK but the NTA's is the most prominent and the only one that is nationally televised.  The American equivalent would be the People's Choice Awards.

The NTA's began in 1995 are broadcast on the ITV network from the Royal Albert Hall.  In 2010 the awards moved to the O2 Arena due to the increasing popularity of the event.

It should be noted that there were no awards in 2009.

David won Most Popular Actor in 2006, 2007, and 2008 and when the awards returned in 2010 the category name changed to Most Popular Drama Performance which David also won.
