The BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) is the UK equivalent to the Oscars and the Emmys. There are also regional Baftas for Wales (Cymru) and Scotland and for computer gaming.
In 2007 David won the BAFTA Cymru awards for Best Actor for the 2006 Doctor Who episode Doomsday.
In the 2009 BAFTA Scotland awards he was nominated for Best Acting Performance in Television. The award went to Robert Carlyle for The Unloved.
